Larry Halvorsen is a self-taught potter with 28 years experience working with clay.
He distributes his production, commission and one-of-a kind work to shops and Galleries nation wide. For the last 17 years he has been exploring and refining the sgraffito carving technique which has become his signature style. Combining his interests in primitive art, ancient tools, natural forms and a lifelong love of pattern, he creates an ever-evolving body of work. The recent focus of his work has been a series of free-standing totems, including sculptures, birdbaths and tables and work for the wall. Using many small pieces a large area can be treated without the inherent weight problem associate with clay.
